Horizontal shot blasting
of tanks and floors

1. Shot blasting of hydrocarbon tanks:

Shot blasting of bottoms and roofs of oil and hydrocarbon storage tanks; this procedure is mandatory when:

  • A steel roughness between 75µ and 100µ or more is recommended for ideal bonding of coating systems of thickness 2mm or more.
  • A very high level of cleanliness of the steel surface is required to receive the coating system.
  • A very high level of cleanliness of the steel surface is required to control pre-cracks on the sheet or weld seams.
  • The speed of the work is required especially in urgent cases such as inspection of the thickness of the tank bottom or roof plates which requires a short time especially for tanks with a large diameter.

2. Concrete floor:

The purpose of shot blasting concrete floors is to improve the roughness of the surface and to prepare the floor to receive the different coating systems.

Our company has a horizontal shot blasting machine with a working width of 52 cm with a robust drive motor of 22.5 KW which guarantees a perfect surface condition for the inspection or reception of the different coating systems.
